The Lab Notebook Submission Guidelines
Original work
Make sure your submission is original! Do not copy from anywhere.
AI Policy
Permissible uses: proofreading, idea organization, and brainstorming
Prohibited uses: content generation (your submission should be your own work), misrepresenting AI’s work as your own, and using AI to rewrite someone else’s work
Any use of AI must be disclosed. Your disclosure should describe what AI tools were used and how they were used.
Submissions may be in any form (nonfiction, fiction, opinion pieces, fun facts, crosswords, photography, drawings, etc). If you are submitting art, please scan a clear photo.
All work should be submitted through the form as a Google Drive link.
The information submitted through the form should be accurate.
By submitting work to The Lab Notebook, you grant the magazine permission to publish your work publicly and use the personal information (name and age) you submit on the form, with the permission of your parent/legal guardian.
September 30 at 11:59pm EST is the deadline to submit to our inaugural issue. No exceptions will be made.
When will I be notified if my submission is accepted?
We will reach out as soon as possible with feedback and/or acceptance.
When is the submission deadline?
Submit by September 30 at 11:59pm EST for a chance to be published in our first issue. Any work received later than the deadline will be considered for the next issue.
Will I be notified if my work is published?
When published, The Lab Notebook will contact you with the email provided.
